A Control Panel should appear in the upper right corner of the page and a white-backgrounded area where course content will be displayed to its left. If you could not get in, please call us at 212-684-5553 and ask for "SNAME PERC Tech Support." Please do not wait until the course is starting to call us. We don't want you to miss anything!
- You should also receive an email confirming your registration. There is also a link to the classroom. Please do not use the link in the email to access the classroom the night of a class. Always enter from SNAMeLearning.org as described above. You will not be given credit for attending the class if you enter the classroom using the link in the email!
- To connect to the audio stream and listen to the instructor (or some test music), select the SNAMeLearning Streaming Media browser window from your task bar. Then follow the instructions in this window to connect to the audio stream. Make sure you have your speakers connected and turned on, and make sure the volume is turned up.
- During a lecture, the Instructor will share his/her desktop and "push" relevant web pages, PowerPoint presentations and/or other documents your screen.
- You will spend most of your time during the Virtual Class viewing the combined Whiteboard/Chat browser window. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, just above the words "Chat to". Your User Name should have been added to the "Chat to" box. (This will allow the Instructor and other students in the Virtual Classroom to identify comments you make via the chat box.)
- To ask the Instructor questions, type your questions or comments in the wide chat input box at the bottom of the page and press the Enter key. The text you typed should appear in the scrollable chat window directly above the input box preceded by your User Name.
- The Instructor will be "drawing" on the whiteboard and asking/answering questions using the chat window.
- We suggest you practice logging in to the Virtual Classroom and using the chat window at least one day before an actual live session.
